The Camphill Village Trust Regional Forum

Posted on Feb 4, 2015 in Community, Learn to lead

People from Botton and Larchfield travelled to the Croft to join in the latest regional forum, organised by members of the Croft good support team. The team were keen to ensure that the forum was fun, informative and most importantly that every person attending had the opportunity to be involved in sharing what is important to them.

The Learn to lead team members from Botton along with Dorothy from the local Advocacy Alliance described how they had transformed the ‘Old Store’ into a new community room complete with a library, computer stations and new kitchen and toilet.  And Norman one of the Botton maintenance team had built a lovely bench for the hall with help from the team in planning and design.

They have been involved in each stage of its development and are rightly proud of result. Etienne summed up their intention to maintain the room saying:

“The first rule is: No muddy shoes. We are keeping a clean and tidy place”.

The team described some of the activities taking place including the

  • Advocacy Project
  • A knit and Natter group making scarves and gloves
  • A film group

workshops followed using hexies and the sticky wall which provided a chance for people to think about the importance of festivals for CVT communities and an opportunity to share and discuss the question – what does Community mean to you ?

A very full and fun day, this is just a snippet of the day, for the full news story of the Northern Regional Forum head over the Camphill Village website
